Residential Care

We are a fully registered residential home and have the capacity to have up to 20 residents living with us at any one time. Many of our bedrooms have en-suite facilities and two of the bedrooms are large enough to accommodate two people sharing (spouses or friends).

Quality care matters at Willan House! Our staff are very well trained, and we provide various ongoing training.

Bedrooms
Each bedroom is comfortably decorated, and we actively encourage people coming to live with us to bring items from home to personalise their room. This could be some much-loved furniture or maybe just some small but familiar items to place around the room.
Bathrooms
We have a walk in shower and a specialist bath which makes it easy for our residents to shower or bathe. We encourage (assisted where necessary) regular showering or bathing as part of personal care.
Cleaning

Our trained housekeeper keeps the home looking clean and well kept. The bedrooms and bathrooms are attended to every day and the washing is done regularly including bedding.

Food
Our trained catering staff provide food that our residents like to eat. We build up a picture of what a resident likes or doesn’t like so that we can cater for their specific tastes. Food is prepared from scratch daily. We have the highest award possible from the Environmental Health Organisation at Five Stars (Feb 2019).
Pricing
The cost of living with us at Willan House starts at £750 but may be more depending on the individual needs of the resident.

Additional Costs:
We provide optional services like Newspapers, hairdressing and chiropody.

We have a well-established care team with a low turnover of staff. Some of the team being here in excess of 5 years. Our care team are dedicated to looking after the people that we have living with us and to a very high standard.

We are fully registered and have a rating from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) (Feb 2019) as ‘Good’ in all areas.

My Grandmother has been a resident of Willan House for the last few years and unfortunately passed this week.

The staff provided incredible care to her throughout her stay and were so welcoming to us, particularly over her final weeks. They are empathetic, kind and very knowledgeable about their residents. The decades of experience show in not only skill and competence, but bedside manner also.

Willan House has made me feel more secure about my friends, family and myself reaching those later years because I now know there are retirement communities out there that show their residents the respect and care they deserve and go above and beyond!

My mother in law has been a resident of Willan House for over two years now and the level of care given to her by the staff I would say is outstanding, their approach being friendly without being patronising with everything being done to make the residents feel as though they at home rather than in a home.

Activities are organised scaled to the individual resident's abilities, the rooms are comfortable and clean and the meals are of good quality but perhaps most importantly whenever I have visited I have found the atmosphere to be happy and relaxed which is no small achievement on the staff's part given the amount of care on offer to residents.

If your loved one is not able to care for themselves in their own home Willan House is the best next thing! The care is wonderful - all the staff are lovely and really look after the residents so well in every way.

My Mum has dementia so we wanted to make sure she was somewhere that we didn’t need to worry about and to know that she was being well looked after and Willan House is just that! A home from home filled with lovely caring staff.

It has been so reassuring knowing that she was in such safe hands when we were unable to see her as often as would have liked to. I would have no hesitation in recommending the home to other families currently looking for somewhere for their loved ones to go if they require full-time care.
